FPUA has established the Project Care COVID-19 Relief Fund with a sponsorship in the amount of $100,000, to assist customers most affected by the COVID-19 Crisis with payment of their utility bill. FPUA is partnering with Mustard Seed Ministries and ALPI (The Agricultural and Labor Program, Inc.) to manage and administer funds based on specific eligibility criteria. 

Eligibility criteria includes:

• Valid Identification
• Verification of need must include proof that the Corona Virus/COVID-19 caused a financial setback that makes it difficult for you to pay your FPUA utility bill (verification criteria will be explained when appointment is made)
• Must present most current FPUA utility bill 
• Assistance provided only once per account number
• One-time assistance cannot exceed $400

St. Lucie County CARES Act Funding assistance available through the St. Lucie County Recover St. Lucie program. Any St. Lucie County resident who has experienced economic hardship caused by the COVID-19 crisis, and earns less than 120 percent of the area median income is eligible to apply. Residents will need to provide documentation of past-due payments to support the need for assistance. This one-time assistance of up to $4,000 can be used for:

·       Rental Payments
·       Utility Payments
·       Mortgage Payments (Primary Residence Only)
·       HOA Payments (Primary Residence Only)
·       Homeowners/Flood Insurance Payments (Primary Residence Only)
·       Car Payments
·       Car Insurance

This is the first phase of St. Lucie County CARES Act funding which is going directly to residents. The second phase, expected to be available later this month, will include direct payments to the business community. Additionally, a portion of the funds is available as reimbursements to local governmental agencies that spent funds on preventative measures relating to COVID-19.
