John K. Tompeck, P.E., Director of Utilities

John K. Tompeck

John Tompeck has been with FPUA for 16 years and has worked in Power Generation and Gas Operations. John holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Marine) from S.U.N.Y. Maritime College and an MBA from Seton Hall University. He is a registered Professional Engineer in the State of Florida. John has over 40 years of engineering, design, and construction senior management experience in the private and public utility business.

Nina B. Penick, CPA, Director of Financial Services

Nina B. Penick was appointed to this position in February 2008. She graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson University in 1982 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting, cum laude. She has been a Certified Public Accountant since 1985. She has served as FPUA’s employee representative to the Fort Pierce Retirement and Benefit System from 2001 to 2008. Prior to her joining FPUA in 1995, Ms. Hurtubise worked for the public accounting firm of McAlpin, Curtis and Associates for five years, and was the Accounting Supervisor for New Horizons of the Treasure Coast for six years. In the 1980’s, she served as an external auditor for the City of Fort Pierce. Prior to her appointment as Director of Finance, she had served FPUA as Budget Officer, Utility Accountant, Billing Manager and Controller.

Bowdoin Hutchinson, P.E., Director of Water/Wastewater Systems

Bo Hutchinson is a life-long resident of Fort Pierce. He graduated from Westwood High School and then served in the United States Coast Guard. After service, he returned to Fort Pierce and attended Indian River Community College (now State College) and continued to the University of Central Florida where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. Bo is a licensed Professional Engineer in the state of Florida and has served FPUA since 2003.

Paul A. Jakubczak, P.E., Director of Electric and Gas Systems

Paul Jakubczak was born in Chicago and raised in Schaumburg, Illinois. In September of 2014 he was appointed as the Director of Electric & Gas Systems at FPUA. Paul holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology and an MBA from Ashford University, and is a licensed Professional Engineer. Paul has more than 20 years of experience working in Public Power and has been employed by the City of Gastonia, NC, City of Rock Falls, IL, and Crawfordsville Electric Light & Power, IN.
